About This Interview
David Newell was interviewed for two hours in Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Newell described his early career in theatre and his eventual association with Fred Rogers. Mr. Newell began on Mister Rogers Neighborhood as props manager and with the then-small role of "Mr. McFeely," the "speedy" deliveryman. Mr. Newell described the inner-workings of the program and discussed his current work as public relations manager for Rogers' company, Family Communications, Inc. The interview was conducted by Karen Herman on July 23, 1999.
