Mickey Rooney was interviewed for one hour in Westlake Village, CA. Rooney described his earliest years breaking into the business as a child actor and how his name got changed from “Joe Yule” to “Mickey Rooney.” He talked about his work in the “Mickey McGuire” film shorts. Rooney mentioned his association with such luminary figures as Walt Disney, Charlie Chaplin, and Judy Garland. He talked about his appearances on such shows as Texaco Star Theater and The Jack Paar Program. Rooney also talked about his dramatic television work on such projects as Playhouse 90: “The Comedian,” Alcoa Theater: “Eddie,” and his Emmy Award winning performance in the television movie Bill. The interview was conducted by Dan Pasternack on July 24, 2001.
